The metering pump is a positive displacement pump. When in use, first check that the anchor bolt and lubricating oil level of the pump body are normal, and turn the motor. After confirmation, open the inlet and outlet valves of the pump, start the motor, and then slowly adjust the stroke of the pump from 0 to 70-80%. Generally, observe the outlet pressure, pressure pulse and flow rate. The difference with centrifugal pumps is that the metering pump is a positive displacement pump, and the pressure inside cannot be suppressed. Once the pressure is suppressed, it is easy to damage the outlet pipeline, and even lead to equipment failures and accidents. Therefore, the inlet and outlet valves must be opened first, and then the motor should be started. (For centrifugal pumps, the inlet valve should be opened first, then the motor should be started, and then the outlet valve should be opened to regulate the flow rate.) When the motor starts, it is necessary to ensure that the stroke is small, usually 0, and then the stroke is increased. It is impossible to adjust the stroke before starting the motor, which is easy to damage the equipment.
